IVR solutions

Since their inception, IVR (interactive voice response) solutions have grown in popularity. Companies of all shapes and sizes take advantage of IVRs to handle their incoming call flow during and after working business hours. If you've ever called a business, it's more than likely that you've interacted with an IVR system. The IVR can be the first point of contact, and sometimes only point of contact, for callers. If you're considering an IVR solution for your business, there are a few things to keep in mind.

IVR Vendor Types. IVR vendors can be categorized into the following groups:

  • Manufacturers - these companies manufacture the IVR equipment (hardware); they usually provide necessary IVR software applications as well.
  • Resellers - these companies sell the IVR equipment and software. They don't actually manufacture or develop any products themselves. Instead, they offer convenience and expertise, integrating best of breed and customized solutions. They typically provide additional levels of support that aren't available from most of the manufacturers and software developers themselves.
  • Software vendors - these companies develop IVR and software applications.
