In the past, automated phone systems meant PBX systems - large-scale, hardware systems with a minimum of 100 phone stations. Businesses that didn't need such large capacity and couldn't afford the large price tag were not left with many options. Today, various automated systems enable even the smallest of businesses to manage their calls efficiently and cost-effectively without a live operator. A digital key or hybrid phone system, supporting 3 to 90 stations, offers a solution for growing businesses. Hybrid phone systems can work with both multi-line and single-line phones, meaning you can plug in either a $25 phone or a far more sophisticated model. And unlike a PBX, these systems do not require a live operator to answer and route incoming calls. Instead, an auto attendant fields all incoming calls, offers several options to the caller, and routes each call to its requested extension. Even better, auto attendants can be programmed to provide basic information like store hours, directions, and service updates. Automated phone system vendors are plentiful and now include many of the large PBX players as well. Check out: Web Design - Small business custom website from EverestWebDesign.com.
